The Stories We Weave for Healing and Illness
Very important, indeed critical to your healing are the stories and ideas that you grapple with and recite on a regular basis.
You may believe that the narratives that you hear are originating from you, however they are often really reflective of the statements, ideas, that are enshrined into your consciousness from meaningful people, significant people, in your life — such as your parents, teachers, siblings, spouses, partners, friends, co-workers, doctors and other healthcare providers — some of which can influence your healing in positive or indeed negative ways.
To fully heal, you must consider the narratives that you are continuing to create and bring awareness to whether such stories are instrumental to your struggles, to your illness or are they serving as opportunities to achieve wellness and reinforced healing.
